23rd June 2014 - BLACKPOOL Ch Show 2014.

It was great to head back out to a show, after spending a couple of weeks with other engagements. June Miles (Jaybiem) judged Leonbergers at Blackpool and we were thrilled to see ICON OF KINGLORDS Z LEONKOVHO RAJA FOR JOCOLDA JW ShCM, win his 2ND CC on the day. This comes 12 months later after Icon won his 1st Reserve CC at the same show under Carlos Saevich. At just 2 years and 5 months, Icon has been consistent in all his classes during his showing career, picked up 2 CCs, 2 Reserve CCs, Junior Warrant title, Show Certificate of Merit award, plus many group placings at Open Shows with his multiple Best of Breeds. We could not be more pleased with this handsome Slovakian Import. Winning her 1st CC on the day was Penny Dabell's Vectiseleon Miss Behavin. Reserve Dog CC was Sharon Hurren's Ch Vannroy Double Bluff at Dacfolke and Reserve Bitch CC was our very own CH JOCOLDA CHIE MIHARA. Great to see Bronek kids out at Blackpool, Julie Jones' Bavaruki Bronko Bloomer wins Best Puppy Bitch, whilst her litter brother, Bavaruki Bronko Luchi, wins 2nd Puppy Dog and qualifies for CRUFTS 2015 for owners Michael and Jackie Scott, whom were away on holiday in Spain, and so Luchi went back home for the week. Monday 19th May 2014 - News Update

Sorry for the long delay, we have very much been enjoying the last few weeks with our youngsters. Now aged 13 weeks, Lionel and his litter sister, Lilly - Leosrus Secret Love, have been out and about, meeting many people, dogs, children and getting used to daily life as they continue to grow up. We have kept in contact with all puppies from the litter from Carla and Icon, and all are doing just great.

Sadly we did not make Scottish Kennel Club due to 'in season' girls and 'out of coat' dogs, so the trip to Scotland was a no go. We enjoyed the weekend at home, taking the dogs for lovely walks and even visited the local park where the annual Vintage Classic Car show was taking place. Over 200 cars were present, and the day was most enjoyable. The Pups (Lionel and Lilly) had a great day at the park, met so many more people and were ready for a recharge at home, before play fighting again at home that evening! Pups are so much fun, but growing ever so fast :-(

Monday April 7th 2014 - Carla and Icon puppies are now 7 weeks old.

Now we enjoy our last week with our 11 puppies from Carla and Icon before they fly the nest and leave for new homes at the end of this week. We have had an enjoyable, but very tiring few weeks, seeing to the pack, but so grateful for 11 healthy happy pups. At the weekend each of the puppies weighed between 8 and 9 kilos each, so they are doing just great with weight for the age.

Due to unforseen circumstances, a male puppy IS AVAILABLE from this litter. If you would be interested in a puppy from Carla and Icon's litter then please do contact us. We are very excited for all our puppy owners new addition to the family and look forward to hearing all about the pups new home and beginnings. Albeit we will be sad to see the super litter leave us.

March 17th 2014 - PUPPIES (Icon and Carla litter) ARE NOW 4 WEEKS OLD.

All eleven puppies (6 males and 5 females) are doing extremely well. We are very pleased with the progress and Carla has been an EXCELLENT first time Mum to all the babies.

At the weekend, we had our puppies future owners come and visit the whole family. We are delighted with the homes and the owners that our babies are going to at 8 weeks old and we know they will continue to have healthy, happy and more importantly, loving forever homes.

February 20th 2014 - PUPPIES HAVE ARRIVED AT LEOSRUS

We are pleased to announce that on 14th February, Carla gave birth to 13 puppies by natural delivery. Sadly two puppies (1 girl and 1 male) did not survive. 11 healthy puppies (6 males and 5 females) now almost a week old are doing superb and Mum, Carla is loving her first litter of babies. Father to the puppies is our very handsome male, Icon. Breeder of this litter is Kerry (Leosrus) - Our Daughter.

The Pedigree of these puppies consist of Swedish, Hungarian, Slovakian, Finnish, and German lines. We are very excited for the next few weeks of this litter as we watch them grow. Most of all we are very happy and relieved that Mother and babies are continuing to do well.

January 9th 2014 - BOSTON CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW

At the first Championship show of 2014, Mrs Jill Peak awarded CCs at the show. Winning 1ST LIMIT DOG and DOG CHALLENGE CERTIFICATE and Best Opposite Sex, was our import male, ICON OF KINGLORDS Z LEONKOVHO RAJA FOR JOCOLDA JW ShCM. This follows on from his TWO Reserve Dog CCs, JUNIOR WARRANT TITLE and subject to KC approval, Show Certificate of Merit title. Icon is only a couple of weeks off being two years old and we are overwhelmed with his success in the ring. Thank you to Jill Peak. Our Polish import - THE ONE AND ONLY ZIELONA CIESZYNIANKA FOR LEOSRUS JW, wins 1ST LIMIT BITCH. Sadly missing her coat, but enjoyed her day out at the show!

December 14th 2013 - LADIES KENNEL ASSOCIATION

Although entered at LKA, we did not make the show. This was down to a last minute opportunity for Kerry to attend the Eukanuba World Challenge and AKC Nationals in ORLANDO, FLORIDA. A once in a lifetime experience for Kerry. But more details on that trip later.

Stuart Mallard judged Leonbergers at LKA and awarded CC and Best of Breed to Glenda Smith's Ch Engelben Each To His Own at Vannroy. Bitch CC was awarded to Sue Brailsford's Ch Stormchaser Fallon JW. Reserve's were awarded to Sharon Hurren's Ch Vannroy Double Bluff at Dacfolke and Reserve Bitch CC also to Sharon Hurren's Jantonely Mahira Eva Avec Shaleodust. Best Puppy in breed was Lyn Bancroft's Jantonely Northern Star Over Beenpea. Flying the flag for our kennel was Roger and Julie Westwood, who won 2nd in Post Graduate Bitch with JOCOLDA AKIKO! Well done Roger and Julie! Congratulations to all the winners!

November 10th 2013 - LEONBERGER CLUB OF GREAT BRITAIN CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW 2013.

The Annual adventure to the UK's only Leonberger Club Championship show, was Sunday 10th November. Two breed specialists were appointed as the judges this year. Judging Males: Sarah Sevastopulo (Oldholbans) and Judges the Females: John Feehan (Manorguard). Our team on the day consisted of ICON OF KINGLORDS Z LEONKOVHO RAJA FOR JOCOLDA JW (Import Slovakia), whom last year won BEST PUPPY IN SHOW at the show. THE ONE AND ONLY ZIELONA CIESZYNIANKA FOR LEOSRUS JW (Import Poland) and JOCOLDA AKIKO, owned by Roger and Julie Westwood. It was super to see some of our BRONEK'S children at the show, Penny Dabell's, Jayda - Vectiseleon Second To None and Vectiseleon Paws For Thort (Kuma) owned by Mark and Karen Syvret in Jersey. Both showed really well in Minor Puppy bitch, gaining 3rd place (Jayda) and 4th place (Kuma). Turning up to the show but not showing was Stacey Mann with Vectiseleon King of Kool (Albus) a great young man looking very promising. Nice to have many people watching ringside spotting who is the Father to these puppies - good lad Bronek on producing these stunning pups!

Back to the show and due to his success during 2013, ICON is now only eligable to compete in Limit Class, and he is amongst some of the breeds big guns. At 22 months of age, we were pleased to be awarded RESERVE LIMIT DOG in the class, amongst dogs who are much older and maturer than Icon himself. He was by far the youngest Leonberger in the class and in great company.! Because of two judges, both Limit Dog AND Limit Bitch were judged at the same time, and our Daughter KERRY had the difficult chore of running in between both rings to handle ICON and in Limit Bitch - JANA. Pleased to say that after Kerry's efforts of running in between both classes, JANA - THE ONE AND ONLY ZIELONA CIESZYNIANKA FOR LEOSRUS JW was awarded 2ND LIMIT BITCH! Jocolda Akiko, owned by Roger and Julie Westwood (Vienna x CH Bluff Daughter) won 2nd Junior Bitch on the day, handled by Julie. The show was most enjoyable with relaxed environment, great laughs and lots of catching up with old and new friends.

BEST IN SHOW was awarded to Racquel Walker's Male, CH Skjaergaardens Iwazaru Speak No Evil. RESERVE BEST IN SHOW was awarded to Carol Folkes and Trina Marriott's CH Dacfolke Xalbadora. BOTH CC WINNERS today, were the same TWO WINNERS that KERRY awarded their THIRD and CROWNING CC to, in January 2013 - making them UK CHAMPIONS! A very good result indeed. Reserve Dog CC was Glenda Smiths' Vannroy Knitted By Nana's, expertly handled by June Miles. Reserve Bitch CC was awarded to Noora Ahokas' - Rekileijonan Hanuja Pupu Amongst Cleon. BEST PUPPY IN SHOW was Racquel Walker's Skjaergaardens Dream A Dream At Xmas With Condalf. It was our last trip to Scotland for this year at the weekend. Early start from home 2am, for a 9am start in Edinburgh. Jenny Davie awarded 'Icon' ICON OF KINGLORDS Z LEONKOVHO RAJA FOR JOCOLDA JW, 1ST LIMIT DOG, and RESERVE DOG CC (his second in 2013 - before the age of 2).

'Jana' THE ONE AND ONLY ZIELONA CIESZYNIANKA FOR LEOSRUS JW, wins 1ST LIMIT BITCH & 'Layla' CH JOCOLDA CHIE MIHARA (Top UK Leonberger Bitch 2012, Winner of 3 CCs in 2013, 12 CCs in total) wins 3rd OPEN BITCH. Dog CC and his third was Lyn Hodge's Stormchaser Ta Pinu JW, Bitch CC was Caroline King-Cherne's Ch Stormchaser Soraya at Tanyvska. Judging finished at 11am and we made our way back home after a very early start. Thankfully we were home at tea time.

Also at the show we had Icon's annual eye test exam at the show. Pleased to say that he has once again passed his test and clear for cataract.

October 20th 2013 - HILLSBORO & DISTRICT CS

At Newark Showground we attended Hillsboro and District CS with Icon. Lorraine Webb (Mauraine) judged the breed. ICON OF KINGLORDS Z LEONKOVHO RAJA FOR JOCOLDA JW wins 1ST OPEN, BEST OF BREED AND WORKING GROUP 1 under Lorraine Webb. Sadly we did not get any further for Best in Show but thoroughly enjoyed our day out. Reserve Best of Breed, Best Puppy and Puppy Group 2 was Les and Julia Strudwick's Debbollinby Tia's Tornado who made her debut on the day. Congratulations to the Strudwicks!

October 12th 2013 - SOUTH WALES

Today was a trip to South Wales and the judge was Barry Blunden. Very nice to see the first of BRONEK's offspring, grace the show ring. Vectiseleon Breaking News at Kensalroag, owned by Judith Dawe, won 1st Minor Puppy Dog and 1st Puppy Dog on his debut Championship show. The week before. He won Best of Breed, Best Puppy in Breed and finished Reserve Best Puppy in Show at a local open show. Tann looks very promising and the double of his Dad Bronek when he was that age. Lovely boy. October 9th 2013 - PUPPIES HAVE ARRIVED FOR ICON'S FIRST LITTER

We were delighted today to receive the news from Carol and Ray Bolt (Cabandray) that their girl, Bo - Lionslord Brown Eyed Girl at Cabandray has delived FIVE puppies. 4 males and 1 female. A wet and dull day at Wetherby Racecourse for Driffield Ch Show. Judging CCs in Leonbergers for the first time was Julia Strudwick (Kumamatata). Jocolda Akiko owned by Roger and Julie Westwood won 1st Junior Bitch and CH JOCOLDA CHIE MIHARA, won 4th Open Bitch. CC and Best of Breed was Susie Jump's Ch Aceca Solid Gold Easy Action for Lowenhohle ShCM. Bitch CC and her first for handler and dog was Trina Turner and Carol Folkes' Dacfolke Evita, handled by Emma Edwards. Best Puppy in Breed was also Trina and Carol's Dacfolke Vagabond. Best Veteran in Breed was Penny Abbott's Clunkamoor First Officer at Geschwind ShCM who was later Veteran Group 4. September 7th 2013 - RICHMOND CH SHOW

Sadly we were unable to attend Richmond Ch Show for judge Miss Jane G Lilley, due to work commitments for Kerry in Manchester that weekend. Not letting the Jocolda team down, Roger and Julie Westwood attended the show and won 1st Junior Bitch with Jocolda Akiko.

A great day for the breed where both male and female CC winners were declared Champion on the day. Dog CC and Best of Breed was Richard Newman's, Lionscourt Couer De Lion of Brynarian. August 27th 2013 - KERRY IS GOING TO GENEVA FOR THE EUROPEAN DOG SHOW

Kerry is currently packing once again for another dog show. This time she is heading to Geneva in Switzerland to the European Dog Show. Leonbergers will be judged at the show in Geneva on Saturday, the breed judge is Lisbeth Mach. Just 36 Leonbergers are entered and many of Kerry's overseas Leonberger friends will be there. She is very much looking forward to meeting old and new friends during this weekend. Of course photos from the trip will appear on our website on her return. Please look out for Kerry around the ring, or even find her on the OUR DOGS newspaper stand in the show, during the three day show.

Meanwhile Joan and Dave, will be heading to City of Birmingham Championship Show this weekend. Fingers crossed for a good day in Stoneleigh, Coventry with the JOCOLDA LEOSRUS team. .

August 24th 2013 - Scottish Kennel Club Championship Show 2013

Leonbergers were judged once again up in Edinburgh Scotland. The show society scheduled Leonbergers to be judged after Rottweilers and Great Danes. It was 3pm before Leonbergers were finally judged. It was a long day (4 hour car journey) but very worth the long wait and very long drive to the show. Les Strudwick (Kumamatata) awarded BITCH CC & BEST OF BREED to CH JOCOLDA CHIE MIHARA owned by Roger and Julie Westwood. This was Layla's TENTH CC!! Layla was later shortlisted in the Working Group down to the last seven under Group Judge, Dr Ronald James. 'Icon' ICON OF KINGLORDS Z LEONKOVHO RAJA FOR JOCOLDA JW (Imp Slovakia) wins 1st Post Graduate Dog and was highly considered for the Reserve Dog CC on the day. 'Jana' THE ONE AND ONLY ZIELONA CIESZYNIANKA FOR LEOSRUS JW (Imp Poland) wins 1st Limit Bitch and RESERVE BITCH CC. Dog CC was awarded to Debbie Charwin's Debbollinby Got To Be There. Reserve Dog CC was Bridgette Bodle's Debbollinby Just A Rumour JW ShCM. Best Puppy in Breed was awarded to David and Gillian McLintock's Clydebrae Ava Maria. We finally arrived home around 11pm and were grateful for a successful day in sunny Edinburgh! We look forward to heading to Edinburgh for the last time this year in November for Working and Pastoral Breeds of Scotland (weather permitting).

We were thrilled to receive the news from Glenda Smith of VANNROY Leonbergers, that Indy - UK Ch Vannroy Elite Edition has given birth to SIX puppies (3 Boys and 3 Girls). July 26th 2013 - Leeds Championship Show

Meg Purnell-Carpenter judged the breed with her first time set of CCs. Winning CC number 2 was Glenda Smith's Engelben Each to His Own at Vannroy, he was later shortlisted down to the last six in the group. Bitch CC her first was Lesley Simpson's Simberger Maycas Del Limari. Winning the Reserves were Racquel Walker's CH Condalf Baldur, handled by Bill Crawley, and Reserve Bitch CC was Paul Hayden and Kirsty Dunn's Lionslord Distant Ecko. Best Puppy was awarded to Racquel Walker's Skjaergaardens Dream a Dream at Xmas with Condalf. Our very own Jocolda Akiko, won 1st Junior Bitch, and her kennel mate, CH Jocolda Chie Mihara won 2nd Open Bitch. Both owned by Roger and Julie Westwood. Huge Congratulations to all of the winners.

July 24th 2013 - More Sad News - Jocolda Jigsaw at Manorguard

This evening we received a phone call from our friend, Syd. Syd owns 'Jocolda Jigsaw at Manorguard' 'Kodey' litter brother to our dearest, Zalah. On the Saturday (two days before Zalah left us) Syd and his family made the decision to have Kodey PTS. Again, Kodey was struggling on his legs for a while and Syd knew it was time to let him go. We are completely devastated that Kodey and Zalah have passed away, days from each other. Both living to 11 1/2 years we are truly blessed with the great lives these two have had. Kodey was the winner of 2 CCs, 2 Reserve CCs, Multiple Best of Breed at Championship shows, plus winner of Best in Show at the Leonberger Club of Great Britain. Kodey and Zalah will be forever missed but always in our minds. RIP Brother and Sister. July 22nd 2013 - R.I.P Zalah (Jocolda Kyri)

Sad day here today we had to say goodbye to our dear "Zalah" (Jocolda Kyri) born 4th November, 2001. Sire, Vannroy Commanche at Dajean Dam, UK Ch Jocolda Georgio. Zalah has always been a good dog so calm and loving, a great Mum, she gave us 3 litters of puppies producing 19 in total, she passed on her good health and temperament and became the oldest Leonberger we have had to date (11 years 8 months and 3 weeks of age). Sadly Zalah went off her legs and was put to sleep today.

It was a very hot day at Malvern, the hottest day of the year so far for the UK. Mr Terry Munro judged Leonbergers with his first time set of CCs. Dog CC and Best of Breed was Racquel Walker's Ch Condalf Baldur, handled by Bill Crawley. Bitch CC was Sue Brailsford's Ch Stormchaser Anoushka JW. Winning the Reserve CCs were Susie Jump's Ch Aceca Solid Gold Easy Action for Lowenhohle ShCM and Lynette Hodge's Ch Stormchaser Andalucia JW. Best Puppy was Katrina Turner's Dacfolke Velvet. Best Veteran in Breed was Lesley Simpson's Debbollinby Blaze of Glory.

July 8th - East of England Championship Show

On Friday, Kerry and Julie had an early start for East of England show in Peterborough with Icon and Kiko. Judging was to commence at 8.30am. Arriving an hour before judging the heat was unbearable and difficult to be in. Thankfully, judging was only delayed 30 minutes and the completion of judging was over in no time. Jack Bispham was our breed judge and he awarded ICON OF KINGLORDS Z LEONKOVHO RAJA FOR JOCOLDA JW 1st in Junior Dog, making that his 6th consecutive Junior class win at Championship Shows and highly considered Icon for the Reserve CC. Roger and Julie Westwood's Jocolda Akiko, wins 2nd Junior Bitch. Dog CC was Ch Davenheath Court Jester JW, Bitch CC, Best of Breed and Working Group 1 was Lynette Hodge's Ch Stormchaser Andalucia JW who becomes the UK's first Leonberger female to win a Group at a UK Championship Show. Winning the Reserve's on the day was Brenda Brown's Brenaljay Pee Jay and Laura Dalison's Dacfolke Xanthia. Best Puppy was Wolfen Moonlight Express, owned by Mr N Croxford.

June 30th - Windsor Championship Show

Kerry and James set off for Windsor in the early hours of Sunday morning with Icon. At 17 months old judge Bridgette Bodle awarded ICON OF KINGLORDS Z LEONKOVHO RAJA FOR JOCOLDA JW, his 5th consecutive Junior class at a Championship show. Congratulations to Ch Condalf Baldur, owned by Racquel Walker, who won CC, Best of Breed and Working Group 2. Laura & Roger Dalison with Dacfolke Xanthia who won their first CC. Congrats to the Reserve winners, Caroline Hesketh and Lionscourt Drake at Karysmhor and Carol Lear Scofield and her female Kwenobe Zendi Yenta at Alfross. Well Done to Caroline King Cherne on Best Puppy in Breed with Zuleona Super Royal of Tanyvska and Penny Abbott and Clunkamoor First Officer at Geschwind ShCM on Best Veteran.

June 28th - PUPPY NEWS

Unfortunately we have very sad news. Vienna has re-absorbed her puppies. Today (28th June) was her due date to Bronek to deliver puppies. She is currently going through a false pregnancy, all signs showing that she is pregnant but not progressing..

This morning a check at the vet and ultrasound confirms that there are no puppies this time. We sincerely apologise to all 11 puppy people who had reserved a puppy out of Vienna and Bronek.

At Bath Championship Show, ICON OF KINGLORDS Z LEONKOVHO RAJA FOR JOCOLDA (Import Slovakia) JW*, wins 1st Junior Dog. Roger and Julie Westwood's CH JOCOLDA CHIE MIHARA wins 1st Open Bitch, Bitch CC (her 9th) and Res Best of Breed. Breed judge was Mr Ray Bolt (Cabandray).

May 21st, 2013 - WORLD DOG SHOW, Budapest, Hungary.

Kerry has just returned from a week long stay in Budapest with her work at OUR DOGS, for the World Dog Show. It was a very enjoyable experience for Kerry and she thoroughly enjoyed watching Leonbergers. The breed was judged by Guido Perosino (Kennel Berljon - Italy).

He found his Best of Breed winner in Natalia Romanova's Skjaergaardens Valentine Rua Soleil. Pictured below is Kerry with the eventual Best in Show winner at the World Dog Show, from an entry of 18,000 dogs, the Old English Sheepdog, CH Bottom Shaker My Secret 'Jimmy' and Kerry with the Best in Show World Dog Show Trophy 2013.

Congratulations to CH Dacfolke Xalbadora who gained her 4th CC at CRUFTS, shortly after winning her 3rd at Manchester under Kerry & to INT CH Amicus Optimus Antonius who won his 1st CC and BEST OF BREED. 'Norris' and his owner Natalia, travelled all the way from Russia to compete and it was a fantastic win for them all..

In 2014, no JOCOLDA or LEOSRUS Leonbergers will be in competition at Crufts due to Joan Rushby (JOCOLDA), judging the breed.

Manchester Championship Show - Jan 2013 -

No JOCOLDA or LEOSRUS Leonbergers were entered at the show as Kerry was judging the breed and awarding her first time set of CC's for the breed. On the day Kerry awarded a 3rd CC and the UK CH titles to both Dog and Bitch. The winners were, CH Skjaergardens Iwazaru Speak No Evil (Imp Norway) (Dog) owned by Racquel Walker and bred by Tone Mosby (Skjaergardens) and Dacfolke Xalbadora (Bitch) owned & bred by Carol Folkes. The Bitch was Best of Breed and later shortlisted in a very strong Working Group under Steve Hall (A UK CC awarding Leonberger Judge). Ending the showing season at LKA, JOCOLDA LEOSRUS have a successful year. Our 3 Imports made their debut during the year, Bronek, Jana and Icon. All three youngsters won more than ONE Best Puppy in Breed at a Championship Show in the UK each.

In November 2012 at the Leonberger Club of GB Championship show, Icon wins BEST PUPPY IN SHOW under Jean Hammond and Malcolm Smith. He won Best Puppy in Breed at, Working & Pastoral Breeds of Scotland, Leonberger Club of Great Britain Ch Show, and Ladies Kennel Association (LKA). At Ashbourne & DCS Open Show, Icon wins Best Puppy in Breed and Working Puppy Group 1 under Lorraine Webb. The show had a record entry for open shows in the UK, with over 1300 dogs. It was a fantastic day with our boys.

10th July 2012 - Breed History made in the UK

WELL, Today History has been made here in the UK. But first of all, here is a little story to tell you. After the huge success of three influential sires ever known throughout the history of the UK (Jabba - Leonbergetz Crusader from Atlantis at Manorguard, Dart - Sund Stamms Design of Golden Art at Manorguard and Adam - Manorguard Adam) Before their passing, semen was collected, stored and shipped to USA for safe keeping until when required. Some years have passed since these dogs left us, but the semen remained in the USA. It was in 2007 when my Mum (Joan Rushby) in agreement with John Feehan (Manorguard) arranged for all the semen to come back to the UK. Some months later a bitch was inseminated to Dart, but unfortunately missed. A second attempt was made and again, missed. On behalf of John Feehan at Manorguard, Sarah Sevastopulo at Oldholbans and my Mum, Joan Rushby at Jocolda, we are pleased to announce that history has been made today with the birth of 6 girls, 3 boys and one more to come from, Dart - Sund Stamms Design of Golden Art at Manorguard and Tink - Oldholbans Tennessee. Mother and puppies are all doing well. We are so pleased that finally after so many years after Dart's passing, he has now sired over 30 litters and has been well known for his progeny having longevity. 21st April 2012 - UK CH Jocolda Chie Mihara – Layla

At Working and Pastoral Breeds of Wales, Layla wins her 3rd and crowning CC under top UK judge, Jeff Horswell (Drakesleat). Layla becomes ‘Jocolda's' 3rd UK Champion. Shortly after her crown, we received some very exciting news from Zena Thorn Andrews (Judge who awarded Layla her first CC) who writes ‘Kerry, I am pleased to say that your girl is my 300th dog I have awarded a 1st CC to who has become a UK Champion – Huge Congratulations on your success!'

At Scottish Kennel Club (May), Layla then goes on to win her 4th CC with Best of Breed under breed specialist, Maggi Bryant (Panelma)

10th March 2012 - Crufts Dog Show 2012

Once again Kerry was at the show from Wednesday with her work at Our Dogs until the following Monday. Certainly a long four exhausting days with plenty of aching feet. Our judge for the day was Breed Specialist Mrs Madeline Lusby (Shermayne) We had ‘Carla' - Leosrus Juicy Couture entered and she decided to blow her coat prior to the show, so we decided not to take her! (A peaceful day without the hyped up nutcase Carla! She is just a very happy dog but never seems to want to calm down. She is on the go all the time as many of you know!) Linda's ‘Skye' was also there and was handled by Julie - sadly she was not placed. Then came ‘Layla' who after we were deciding all the week before whether to take her or not as she also was blowing her coat - but Julie did a good job of bathing her and yes! She was not in full coat but we were very happy with 4 th in her class (and the extra training worked as Layla moved very well today). CRUFTS 2012 BEST OF BREED was Sue Brailsford with Ch Stormchaser Anouska Best Dog and a second CC was won by Steve and Sharon Hurren's Vannroy Double Bluff at Dacfolke handled by their Daughter Laura Dalison, Best Puppy was won by Bridgette Bodle's Debbollinby Latest Flame. Congratulations to all who took part at Crufts 2012.

29th February 2012 - Kennel Club Certificate

Kerry received her certificate from the UK Kennel Club confirming that she has been approved to award CCs for Leonbergers. Kerry will be judging Manchester Championship Show in January 2013. Both Mum and Dad are very proud of her achievement in passing all the relevant exams and wish her well in all her future Judging appointments.

21st January 2012 - Manchester Championship Show

Kerry was the official reporter for the show for OUR DOGS and was there all weekend. Mr Stuart Mallard was the judge for Leonbergers at the show. Entered was Linda Russell's young girl ‘Skye' - Leosrus Just Cavalli, sadly she was not placed in her class. ‘Layla' - Jocolda Chie Mihara owned by Roger and Julie Westwood and handled by Kerry, was also entered but did not want to strut her stuff today and was very lazy on the move - so she gained second place (more training with her). Stuart Mallard found his Best of Breed in Suzie Jump's Ch Aceca Solid Gold Easy Action for Lowenhohle ShCM and Bitch CC was won by Sue Brailsford's Ch Stormchaser Anoushka. Best Puppy was won by Bridgette Bodle's Debbollinby Latest Flame.

15th January 2012 - Settling in well

Pups are settling in well and exploring (especially Jana - she is the leader) everywhere including the river! (as you can see from this photo!)

They have met lots of people and dogs in and around our local parks and trips to the shops etc, they are very happy sociable puppies and love to play and chase each other around.

12th January 2012 - Arrival from Poland

Our two beautiful babies have arrived safely after a very long journey from Danuta Rylko of kennel Zielona Cieszynianka in Puncow Poland. Bronek and Jana left Poland at 4am on Wednesday 11 th January and arrived with us at 2pm on Thursday 12 th January. Ater our first meeting a trip to the local park for poop's and pee's and stretch their legs and have a good sniff around on English soil, to our home to meet a couple of our dogs, followed by a good feed and a very well deserved sleep. We would like to thank Danuta for sending us these superb babies and we hope they do you proud. Also many thanks to Edward and his drivers from TEDEX for delivering them safely to us.

10th January 2012 - PUPPIES HAVE ARRIVED!!

We are pleased to announce the safe arrival of eight puppies, sired by our very own, 'Paco' (Leosrus Paco Rabanne).
Eight puppies (five boys and three girls) were born in the early hours of this morning and all is well. Mother is, Amy - Jocolda Mulberry (litter sister to our Jocolda Swarovski to Leosrus 'Crystal' - winner of 2 Reserve CC's). This is Amy's second litter.
Amy is also the Mother to our young boy, 'Ronnie' (Leostars Stargazer at Jocolda) from her first litter.

7th January 2012 - Boston Championship Show

Well it was time for the show season to start once again. Boston is the first UK Championship Show of the year and judging the breed with CC's is UK breed specialist, Glenda Smith (Vannroy). We took two girls along, Linda Russell's Skye, Leostars Just Cavalli and Roger and Julie Westwood's Layla, Jocolda Chie Mihara. Both girls were bred by ourselves.
We set off from home at 6am on Saturday morning and made the three hour trip to Peterborough. Judging commenced at 9am. Great to see everyone after the Christmas festivities and wish everyone a great New Year. Skye, was first to be judged, handled by Kerry whilst, owner Linda stayed at home. It was Skye's 2nd ever show and Championship show. Skye really enjoyed herself all day and when in the ring, she behaved extremely well and moved lovely around the ring. Delighted that she was awarded 3rd in her class, qualifying her straight away for Crufts 2012. Layla was next in the Limit class handled as always by Kerry. In great company, Layla won 1st in Limit Bitch then held her own for the challenge and won her SECOND BITCH CC. Brenda Brown won the Dog CC with Brenaljay Pee Jay. For Best of Breed, the Judge, Glenda Smith asked both dog and bitch to move around the ring once more before a decision for Best of Breed was made. To our delight, Layla was awarded Best of Breed at Boston Championship Show 2012. Many thanks to Glenda Smith (Vannroy) for her opinion of Layla and awarding her her 2nd CC and Best of Breed. We had such a wonderful day and owners, Linda Russell and Roger and Julie Westwood including ourselves are on cloud nine. Thanks to all the phone calls, texts and messages from friends all over the World who have congratulated us on our success.

1st January 2012 - HAPPY NEW YEAR

We would like to wish all our friends from all over the World a very happy and successful 2012. The last couple of weeks we have very much enjoyed our time off work to celebrate Christmas and New Year with our families and although the weather has been terrible with a lot of rain, it did not spoil our time. We are now ready for 2012 and our exciting trips to shows across the UK and overseas where Kerry will be working for Our Dogs UK.

This coming weekend we will be showing at the 1st UK General Championship show of the year, Boston Championship Dog Show. Results from the show will follow soon after.

5th November 2011 - Working & Pastoral Breeds of Scotland

This weekend it was not a weekend for us to be showing, but in actual fact, a weekend for Joan to judge Leonbergers with CCs on offer.
As most of the year has shown, the entry at the shows during the year have been very low. Exhibitors travelling to Scotland in November is proving to be too much to ask as we do suffer with bad weather at this time of year and the North of the UK does get the worst spell of cold, frost and more so, snow and ice. However, the weather was only frosty but nothing more.
Joan and Dave travelled up on Friday to Edinburgh as the show was the next day. They spent a good evening amongst other judges and friends in the hotel having a nice meal and putting the World to rights before going to bed and waking the next morning to fulfill their judging appointments.
Joan was in the ring at 9.30am. She awarded a 2nd CC and later Best of Breed to Ann Bell's Clunkamoor Last Word for Wasserhund ShCM. Bitch CC and her 3rd, gaining her UK Champion title was Judith Dawe's Tarkaleos Atlantic Maid at Kensalroag. Best Puppy and Puppy Group 3 was awarded to Les and Julia Strudwick's Debbollinby Naughty Girl for Kumamatata.

Thu 29th Sep, 2011 - Driffield Championship Show

At Driffield Championship show, Bridgette Bodle (Kitarn) judged the breed for the first time with CCs. Returning to the show ring after a long break was Kerry's homebred girl, Leosrus Juicy Couture ‘Carla' was placed 2 nd in the Post Graduate class, qualifying her for Crufts 2012.
Next to be shown was ‘Layla' – Jocolda Chie Mihara in Limit Bitch. Layla gained also 2nd in the class.
Finally, we would like to Congratulate our very good friends, world known dog photographer, Lisa Croft-Elliott and Carrie Russell-Smith on winning the Pastoral group at Driffield with their Cardigan Corgi, Ch & Slo Ch Floatin' Helen Heilin JW10. Holly is currently joint Top Pastoral dog in the UK as of September 30 th . – well done ladies.

Wed 28th Sep, 2011 - Leonberg

Last weekend, Kerry travelled to Kent from Manchester on the train to meet up with Sarah Sevastopulo (Oldholbans) and David & Madeleine Jephcott (Vinkasse) and all of them then drove from Kent , to Leonberg in Germany for the biggest Leonberger Club show in the World – Leonberg. This year 300 Leonbergers were entered. A first time for Kerry to this show and there was no rest time as she kept busy all day taking thousands of photographs of the day of various Leos. It was nice to see some good sized males, with lots of breed type, bone, coat and masculinity and bitches with good height, excellent ratios, elegance and in excellent condition. Very impressed with the overall quality of the dogs. The puppies were also very nice, good size, lots of bone and substance, strong heads, black masks, and with very good movement. The overall agreement between the UK crowd was that the quality of the dogs this year was excellent.

David and Madeleine took their young bitch Noa to Leonberg and gained an excellent in a very strong Open Bitch class. Many other UK exhibitors did extremely well, Racquel Walker's Ch Condalf Baldur won excellent in Champion male, and Carol Lear-Schofield's Kwenobe Zendi Yenta won excellent and 1 st in the class for Open Bitch. Both dogs were handled by Bill Crawley. Great to see Sharon Springel, Bill & Geraldine Crawley, Carol Lear Schofield, Bev Hellewell, Joe & Sinead Treacy, Celia Peters, Diane and Lauren Whan all from the UK and Ireland and of course the many friends from around the World. There were some great laughs over the few days spent in Leonberg and Kerry had great pleasure in finally putting a face to the name of the many friends she has met on Facebook.

The day before the show, Kerry, David and Sarah visited the town and went to the bronze Leonberger statue which is situated in Leonberg, next to the Amber Hotel . Lots of other Leonberger people were at the statue having photographs taken with their own Leos, next to the statue, it was great to see.

Sat 10th Sep, 2011 - Richmond Championship Show

At Richmond Championship Show, Jocolda Chie Mihara ‘Layla' owned by Roger and Julie Westwood, wins 1st Limit Bitch and BITCH CC under Top All Rounder judge Mrs Zena Thorn-Andrews (Drakesleat).

We are delighted with the result on Layla and pleased that she has now gained her Kennel Club Studbook. Qualifying her for LIFE at Crufts.

Fri 29th Jul, 2011 - LEONBERGETZ KROHM AT JOCOLDA "Krohm" (30th May 2004 to 29th July 2011) aged 7yrs 2 months

Krohm our first import from Sweden, bred by Monica Rehnberg of the famous Leonbergetz kennel. Krohm was everything I wanted in a Leonberger, big strong elegant and majestic, with a beautiful dark head and large bone covered in a rich mahogany coat. He was blessed with good hips, elbows and clear eye certificates, he quarantined quite well but was not too fond of the outside world, but loved his life at home and was always happy in his own surroundings. Unfortunately Krohm was infertile so he never produced any offspring. A bonus was that he was shown occasionally winning many BOBs etc. He took Reserve Best Dog at the LCGB show in 2006 followed by him winning his stud book number and a CC at the W&PBreeds in 2007. Krohm has always been a fit active dog but mid July 2011 he was off his food so we gave him different sorts of food which he seemed to enjoy but he was very quiet and slept more than normal but no signs of being ill. Trips to the vets, tests were done but nothing was showing there was a problem. The only thing that was happening was he was having a terrible moult, but as all our other dogs are doing the same it is just the norm at the moment! He sat up quite a lot and seemed tired and by late July he started doing grunting noises as though he was uncomfortable! Then suddenly overnight he started to loose weight, muscle tone and condition then within a couple of days his stomach started to swell and he had no energy, he also did not want to eat! He was rushed to the vets after several tests he was diagnosed with Gastric Adenocarcinoma, we were advised that surgery was an option but most times the tumor could reoccure and that using chemotherapy and radiation was not recomended due to complications using radiation therapy for gastrointestinal problems, and the average life expectancy after surgery would be 6 months to a year I made the decision to have him PTS I held him in my arms and told him what a good dog he had been, and thanked him for sharing my life, and that I loved him very much and to run free with all my other dogs who have gone over the rainbow bridge, until we meet again Krohm R.I.P.

Fri 28th Jan, 2011 - RIP Pele - Manorguard Pele at Jocolda

We were very sad to hear of the passing of our great boy, Manorguard Pele at Jocolda. He was sadly pts aged 11 years and 7 months. Pele lived with our friend Sylvia and he is missed terribly by all of us! He sired many CC winning dogs here in the UK including, Manorguard Yasmin, Manorguard Bewitched, Wolfen A Glory Hunter ShCM,... Wolfen a Touch of Class, Int Ch Jakamak Cool Hand Luke, Crufts BOB 2006 - Oldholbans Svartelheim at Kitarn ShCM, and many other dogs have Pele in there pedigrees today. Pele was Top Stud dog and most importantly, litter brother to the UK's first Champion - Ch Manorguard Proud Mary. RIP Pele, thank you for producing some exceptionally good Leos!! You will be missed!
